The Role

The Law Society (TLS) is the membership body for the legal profession. Evidence is at the heart of what we do to improve the value we offer our members. The Futures and Insight team leads the effective use of insight and data across TLS, by producing and drawing on high quality research and evaluation. 

We are looking for a Head of Strategy and Impact to join the team and to lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge analytical capabilities to support our business planning processes. The post holder will lead our strategy and planning team to help develop annual business plans and related metrics. The role will also involve providing insight to drive brand performance and reputation, delivering business reporting to understand and address challenges, as well as making recommendations for future action.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone strategically minded, intellectually curious, passionate about making a difference, and a great communicator. 

  • Someone educated to degree level in a numerate subject such as economics, business or other relevant discipline
  • Experience of designing and executing strategies, as well as embedding measurement frameworks including performance monitoring 
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and Python
  • A proven track record of working as part of a team and contributing to the formulation of team objectives including coaching less experienced members of staff
  • An organised and methodical approach to work, able to work accurately and effectively on several tasks at the same time with minimal supervision and arrange and prioritise a heavy workload for self and for others.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, such as tailoring findings for internal and external audiences, as well as using different communication channels
  • An ability to explain complex concepts to a wide range of stakeholders, and to work collaboratively to help shape/reshape analytical requirements
