The Role

The Senior Governance Officer is responsible for delivery of effective secretariat services to our Board and its committees. This is a vital role that plays a central part in the administration of the Law Society's governance structure, enabling good decision making and oversight of our activities. The role involves working closely with our Board Chair, Chief Executive and other senior stakeholders, delivering work on their behalf and advising on governance matters. 

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with significant experience and understanding of board and committee structures, processes and how they function, with prior experience as a committee secretary or similar. 

The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with experience of working with senior stakeholders. Resilient, they will have excellent planning and organisational skills, and be able to produce high-quality deliverables under pressure and with a high level of attention to detail.
